About Jason Alberty
Before teaching language arts for twelve years, I worked in both advertising and sales. I am an actor and director as well as a writer.
I am a founding member of The Barcalounger Cowboys of St. Columcille's. This writers group was started in 1997 by five teachers. Our first book, The Barcalounger Cowboys of St. Columcille's: A Writers Group Anthology, is due out this winter.
I am also Artistic Director for both Urban Theater Project of Iowa, a Cedar Rapids based not for profit acting company, and Brainstorm Theater, an audio drama production company.
As Artistic Director for Urban Theater Project of Iowa, I headed up the script development for the 2008 Classics at Brucemore's production of Moving Home, the Cedar Rapids area arts response to the devastating flood of '08.
